Since a couple of weeks VMware announced the new Solution Competency on the VMware Partner University Website: VMware Cloud on AWS. This brings the total number of Solution Competencies to achieve on 13. For those partners that already hold all or most of the competencies, this competency is build up around other skills and accreditations, so check your competency dashboard for more information.
The VMware Cloud on AWS Solution Competency provides partners with the sales and technical training required to be successful selling hybrid cloud solutions based on VMware Cloud on AWS. Achieving this competency enables solution providers, managed service providers and SISO’s to grow their business leveraging an integrated cloud solution that delivers an on-demand service enabling customers to run applications across a VMware Cloud Infrastructure environment with access to a broad range of AWS services. Powered by VMware Cloud Foundation™, this service provides an operationally consistent and familiar way to run, manage and secure applications in a hybrid IT environment.
To be specific, there will be 2 VMware Cloud on AWS accreditations to earn: VSP – VMware Cloud on AWS and VTSP – VMware Cloud on AWS. These 2 accreditations will be coming soon and are not released (officially) yet. So check the Partner University regularly for any updates.
Most likely the VSP accreditation will have the following 3 possible modules:
- VMware Cloud on AWS Features and Capabilities
- VMware Cloud on AWS Sales Scenario
- VMware Cloud on AWS Solution Overview
And the VTSP accreditation might have the following modules:
- Introduction to VTSP-VMware Cloud on AWS
- VMware Cloud on AWS Fundamentals
- VMware Cloud on AWS Solution Overview
- Technically Selling VMware Cloud on AWS
Remember the accompanying training plan is not available yet, so are any module tests. This means check back on the Partner University website for any updates on this new Solution Competency.
