He is a philosopher and previously earned a PhD in artificial intelligence. Today, he is a professor of Public Understanding of Science at Leiden University (a.k.a. a “professor of making things understandable”). He aims to explain science and philosophy in a fresh yet accessible way to a broad audience.

A certified VCDX, author of The VDI Design Guide book series, and long time VMware vExpert, Johan is known for combining strategic insight with deep technical knowledge.
