Have we confused convenience with progress? I think about this often when I see how many organizations rushed into the public cloud.
The reason many companies chose public cloud? Laziness.
It looked easy. IT was seen as costly and slow, its value unclear, and with a credit card you could spin up resources in minutes.
At the time, it seemed smart, fast, flexible, and modern.
But what looked efficient then now feels shortsighted.
Sovereignty, security and costs are forcing many organizations to face a new reality. Convenience might feel attractive in the moment, but convenience is not the same as right.
