VMware, Broadcom, KKR, and Omnissa are some names you've probably heard or read about in the past 12 months. Now that more information is available and the dust is settling let's examine the new status quo and how we at ITQ view this.

Who/what is Omnissa?

Following Broadcom's acquisition of VMware, a lot has happened. One of those things was Broadcom selling the EUC division to KKR, which launched the standalone software company now known as Omnissa (pronounced as ahm-NISS-uh).

Behind Omnissa's new identity is something familiar to most of us. End-user computing has always been a separate business unit within VMware. This means we still see the same familiar faces throughout the organization, with Shankar Iyer now leading as the CEO of Omnissa.

Omnissa recently held an online event called Omnissa Live, in which they introduced the company. If you would like to watch the recording, you can do so here: https://www.omnissa.com/omnissa-live/

Our belief in the Omnissa platform

At ITQ, we are passionate about delivering exceptional technology solutions and services to customers, and the Omnissa platform enables us to do so. Omnissa's platform consists of the same products, such as Workspace ONE, Horizon, and App Volumes, that we at ITQ have managed and delivered for years and will continue to do so.

Though Omnissa is now labeling it as an AI-driven platform, the vision remains that of an autonomous workspace that is self-configuring, self-healing, and self-securing - a vision fitting for today's rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Omnissa's platform stands out for several reasons. One of those is its single-platform approach, which allows it to bring any application to any device, regardless of the platform it runs on and the location (or cloud) in which it is hosted.
Add to that the digital employee experience (DEX) and workspace security capabilities, constantly expanding to more products within the Omnissa platform and accessible from a single pane of glass.

This single-platform approach provides IT teams with the tools to deliver a digital workspace that meets modern demand and provides everyone with a seamless and secure experience.

Why did we choose to partner with Omnissa?

When Broadcom announced its intention to sell the EUC division, the question wasn't whether we wanted to partner with what is now Omnissa but when we could partner with them.

With one goal: We aim to be as known for our commitment to Omnissa as we have been known for our commitment to VMware. The reason is simple: we believe we can deliver exceptional services by combining the Omnissa platform with ITQ's expertise in delivering and managing digital workspaces.

Omnissa is making the same commitment by frequently visiting our offices, involving and updating multiple layers of our organization, and working together closely.

Our shared vision and alignment make this partnership a strong one. A feeling of partnership that reminds us of the early days of VMware. One that you will see and hear a lot more about.
